This is the only route here that isn’t based up on the Downs; there are even some flat sections. And for those that are interested, Downton Abbey was filmed in our destiantion Bampton!

Heading out of Letcombe via Windmill Hill, we then head west to Kingston Lisle before heading up country through Uffington and the market town of Faringdon. We drop down onto the valley floor proper, crossing the young Thames on our way to Clanfield. East now to Bampton and then south again, across the Thames at Tadpole Bridge. We hop over the A420 (busy) and wind our way back on through villages, with a last climb at West Challow.
